HOW TO START AN ONLINE BUSINESS FROM HOME

So, a lot of people want to know, how to start an online business from home and what are the best ways to make a residual income?” I think the reason people ask this question, isn’t so much because they want to make some extra income on the side. I don’t even think it’s because they want to make thousands of dollars a month and buy mansions and private jet planes. No. I believe most people are simply looking for freedom. Freedom from working the same old 9-5 job. The reason people want the money, is because you need the money to gain the freedom. Lets first look at some common questions regarding – how do people actually make money online? Then I’ll show you ways to do it. 

Yes! And I mean that. I’m not some young cat who was born with a iPhone in my hand. I’m in my mid 40’s now, and I only started this a few years ago. I wasn’t any kind of computer wizard. I new my way around the computer, but I never had a website, let alone made any money. In the beginning, I LOST a lot of money. But one day I came across supportive people online and found a supportive community website that helped me along the way. And I’ve been getting an education from that website ever since. Everyone needs help getting started. That’s pretty much what I’m doing here, for you! That’s why I created Impending Perfection. Everyone has it in them to reach the goal, they just need guidance. I hope to be that to people.

Short answer is no, It’s not difficult. That’s not to say you won’t have to learn new things, and you won’t run into road blocks and frustration. But even your day job gives you days like that. But it’s something anyone can do, as long as they follow the proper steps and plug through during the difficult times.

Now this doesn’t mean absolutely everyone will succeed. Are you someone who can put aside a couple hours a day for 3 months before seeing a penny? How about for 6 months? What about a year?  If you think being patient is difficult, well then maybe this will be difficult for you. To succeed in online marketing, you need 2 things, and you’re sure to be successful. Patience and dedication. If you can dedicate and hour or 2 (or more) a day and be patient for 6 – 12 months, then you have exactly what it take to be successful at this. And once you do, the sky is the limit! Once you start making $100. $500, $1000 a month, it becomes a snowball effect. When the snowball starts, that’s when you can sit back and relax a bit more, after 1-2 years of working on your online business. After that, the money is residual and the website (for the most part) runs itself. In other words, you can be on a beach in Bermuda while your webpage is making thousands of dollars for you each month. That’s the real beauty of online marketing. If you put in the time and effort for a year, you’ll have years and years and years of income coming in, while you enjoy YOUR TIME! Take your time now, building your online business, and gain your time back 10 fold in a year!

Well, like I mentioned above. If you have patience and dedication, and your motivation is at 10, you can be making money within your first 3-6 months. I’ve seen people start making money within their first 3 weeks of online marketing. But that’s not common. I’ve also seen people struggle at making any money at all for 9, 10 or even 12 months. It’s absolutely impossible for anyone to answer this question of “How long does it take to make money online?” Everyone is different. Everyone works at a different pace, has different skill sets, and different time management. But I do know for sure, if you STICK with it, you WILL make money.

Now lets quickly discuss just a few popular ways, of how exactly people make money online.

If anyone ever told you, you can start an online business from home without your own site and make money, they’re fibbing. I won’t call them a straight up liar, because there are ways, but it’s nearly impossible and it will cost you A LOT time and money to do it. Also, with a website, that’s how you make RESIDUAL INCOME, and that’s exactly what we want!

Don’t listen to people who say “You need to spend money to make money.” That’s not true online. There are plenty of free products online that you can use to your advantage. There will be times that you’ll want to spend money on your website, but you won’t need to do that in the beginning, and I’ll discuss those instances in another post.

There are times I believe in GOOD INVESTMENTS when it comes to  your online business success. I make a small investment in Wealthy Affiliate each year, for my education on how to make money online. Yes, even I need to be educated. Education is key. Never try to stop learning ways you can create more income online. Just one little nugget of information, can change the way you make money instantly. I had a site that up, getting little to no traffic. I came across a video on my Wealthy Affiliate page, and a light bulb went off! Within a month, my traffic tripled, and it’s been gaining regular traffic ever since.

My point is, don’t ever think you know everything when it comes to internet marketing. You don’t. And you never will. The more information you can get, the more money it will lead to in the long run.

2. Your own product or someone else’s product:

You’re going to need something to sell. That can be absolutely anything at all. You may think at first that this is a big decision. “What in the world am I gonna sell?” Here’s a secret (not really a secret to those of us who do this) but it really doesn’t matter what you sell. And it doesn’t even have to be your own product. I discuss more about that, here.

3. Become An Affiliate

An affiliate marketer is someone who sells other peoples products. There are endless amounts of products and businesses that you can “promote” from your website, and every time someone clicks on that link and buy the product, you make a commission from the sale. Anywhere from 5% – 75%. Imagine making 75% profit on a $500 product!

For example, you can be an Amazon.com affiliate. Put a link to one of their products on your webpage, and when someone clicks that link and purchase that product (or ANY OTHER product) from Amazon, you’re going to get a commission! Once you send someone to Amazon, using your link, that customer becomes YOUR customer, even if they don’t buy the product that your link sent them to. They could end up buying ANYTHING, and you STILL get the commission.

Of course there are steps you need to take in order for you to see profits. You’re not just going to put up a website, and all of a sudden start making money, simply because you put a link to Amazon.com on your page. You’ll need a niche, content, and traffic to your site. Besides Amazon, there are literally THOUSANDS of products you could promote and sell on your page. From weight loss products, to electronics, clothing, home decor, and kitchen goods. The options are endless! Whatever your niche, there’s a product. Can being an affiliate be profitable?
